Our Services

Getting you back to better.

Sepsis & Infectious Disease Services

Sepsis and infectious diseases can wreak havoc on the human body, often leaving individuals who have suffered them with complex medical care needs.

Critical care hospitals like Vibra Hospital of Southeastern Massachusetts are designed to provide care for people recovering from serious medical conditions. When an infectious disease or sepsis is the source of critical illness or complications, specialized treatment and an extended recovery period may be needed. That’s where we can help.

Vibra Hospital of Southeastern Massachusetts’ infectious disease program offers patients:

Continuation of specialized care in a hospital setting.

Sometimes individuals suffering from infectious diseases or sepsis require a longer period of time for recovery than what traditional hospitals may be able to provide. In these cases, patients may be referred to us to continue their treatment.

Our skilled medical professionals have advanced knowledge of infection prevention, control practices, and treatment. Our hospital’s infectious disease protocols are guided by a national medical director who is board-certified in both internal medicine and infectious disease. Our team can help patients manage their treatment needs including medical tests, pain management, IV medication, other medication management, and general care needs. For patients requiring antibiotics, we utilize an interdisciplinary antibiotic stewardship process by which we closely monitor antibiotic dosing, timing, and use.

Focused rehabilitation services.

Infectious diseases can affect the body in many ways, sometimes altering an individual’s movement, strength, and ability to perform self-care activities. In these cases, rehabilitation services may be provided. Our rehabilitation services are tailored to each patient’s abilities and needs. When appropriate for the patient’s condition, we’re able to provide a full range of rehabilitation services (physical, occupational, and speech-language therapies), whether at a patient’s bedside or in our rehab gym.

Patient and family support services.

Each of our patients is assigned a dedicated, interdisciplinary support team. We are here to help patients and their family members through the recovery process. We encourage family involvement and offer education opportunities for caregivers. Our team members work hard to ensure that each individual has access to the information, resources, training, and support they need.
